PRP & Hair Transplant
Double-spin platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and hair transplant procedures for hair thinning and hair loss.
What PRP involves
PRP therapy uses a small sample of your own blood, processed using a double-spin technique — two centrifugation cycles rather than one — to separate and concentrate the platelets more effectively before they're injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles. It's generally recommended for early to moderate thinning rather than more advanced hair loss.
When a transplant is considered
For more advanced pattern hair loss, a hair transplant may be discussed after examining the donor area to check it can support the procedure. This is a more involved procedure than PRP, with its own recovery period that's explained in detail during consultation.
A combined approach
PRP and transplant aren't mutually exclusive — some patients use PRP alongside or after a transplant to support the surrounding hair, with follow-up sessions scheduled based on how the scalp responds.
